Spain stocks lower at close of trade

Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.06% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA, which rose 2.02% or 0.395 points to trade at 19.975 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal  added 1.44% or 0.060 points to end at 4.219 and Int.Airl.Grp  was up 1.40% or 0.096 points to 6.980 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Banco Popular , which fell 2.42% or 0.054 points to trade at 2.173 at the close. Caixabank SA  declined 2.22% or 0.058 points to end at 2.552 and Tecnicas Reunidas  was down 2.05% or 0.520 points to 24.860.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 124 to 84 and 17 ended unchanged.

Gold for June delivery was down 0.47% or 5.80 to $1217.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.22% or 0.45 to hit $36.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 0.50 to trade at $38.17 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1394, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.7981.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.52
