Russia stocks higher at close of trade |
Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES, which rose 4.94% or 0.0042 points to trade at 0.0890 at the close. Meanwhile, MMK added 4.73% or 1.065 points to end at 23.565 and Rosseti ao was up 4.02% or 0.0230 points to 0.5950 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MegaFon OAO, which fell 2.14% or 16.00 points to trade at 731.00 at the close. Moskovskaya Birzha OAO declined 1.46% or 1.53 points to end at 103.52 and Verhnesald MPO was down 1.33% or 170.0 points to 12570.0.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 121 to 92 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in FSK EES rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.94% or 0.0042 to 0.0890.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.16% to 36.770.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.48% or 5.90 to $1217.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.22% or 0.45 to hit $36.34 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 0.50 to trade at $38.17 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.04% to 68.2854, while EUR/RUB rose 0.87% to 77.816.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 94.52.
