Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 1.24% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Singer Industries PLC , which rose 23.45% or 34.00 points to trade at 179.00 at the close. Meanwhile, eChannelling PLC added 21.95% or 1.80 points to end at 10.00 and Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC was up 21.87% or 0.70 points to 3.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC , which fell 19.66% or 511.10 points to trade at 2089.00 at the close. Elpitiya Plantations PLC declined 8.53% or 1.80 points to end at 19.30 and Samson International PLC was down 8.04% or 9.00 points to 103.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 199 to 22 and 25 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.55% or 0.22 to $40.58 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.82% or 0.35 to hit $43.18 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.10% or 1.20 to trade at $1259.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.18% to 205.755, while USD/LKR fell 0.17% to 144.590.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 93.86.
